Well, its Groundhog Day and according to the CBC theres been some cross-border disagreement. Apparently Ontarios Wiarton Willie and Nova Scotias Shubenacadie Sam both predicted an early spring, but Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow in Pennsylvania, signalling six more weeks of winter.

Tomorrow is Groundhog Day, and frankly, there usually isnt too much to say about that until after those furry forecasters have made their predictions. But theres a new event for 2012 - the City of Mississauga is hosting an outdoor marathon of the movie Groundhog Day in Celebration Square. And of course theres still time to make the trip to an actual Groundhog Day festival to see a celebrity Marmota monax in person, or for parents and teachers to plan some Groundhog Day activities.

January 27th is Family Literacy Day across Canada and many Toronto Public Library branches are offering special programming this weekend to celebrate. The Interior Design Show is on at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre this weekend, with an opening night party on Thursday, a day for professionals on Friday and then general admission available on Saturday and Sunday.
